			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Hello Friends. Do you know the upcoming (15th September) is the B&#8217;day of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. This day is celebrated by the name of Engineers&#8217; Day. So, I am going to give you all the brief about Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, today.</p>
<h2>Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya:</h2>
<p>Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya born on 15th September, 1861 in small village of India. His origin is from state Andhra Pradesh. When he was in Kurnool, he lost his father. At the time his age was mere 15 years.</p>
<p>He had completed his primary studies from Kolar District. Then he moved to Bangalore for High school. Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya completed B.A. from Madras, which now a days known as Chennai, in 1881. Then he completed his Civil Engineering from College of Engineering, Pune. This college is one of the best college in country, till today, for engineering studies.</p>
<h2>Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya&#8217;s Career Overview:</h2>
<ul>
<li>1884: Assistant Engineer in PWD, Mumbai.</li>
<li>1909: Chief Engineer, Hyderabad.</li>
<li>President of Education and Industrial Development Committee.</li>
<li>Worked as Diwan of Mysore: 1912 to 1919.</li>
<li>Member of Government Council of IISc, Bangalore.</li>
<li>Member of Government Council of Tisco.</li>
<li>MEMBER OF BACK BAY ENQUIRY COMMITTEE, LONDON.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya&#8217;s Works:</h3>
<ol>
<li>Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was the Architect of Krishna Raj Sagar Dam and Vrundavan Garden. The was biggest dam in the Asia at the time.</li>
<li>Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was the founder of Iron and Steel works at Bhandarawati.</li>
<li>Mysore Sandal and Oil Factory.</li>
<li>Mysore Soap Factory.</li>
<li>Mysore University.</li>
<li>Parasitoide Lab.</li>
<li>He was the Initiative for Public Library at Mysore and Bangalore.</li>
<li>At the time Education was forbidden fruit for Girls. He was the one encouraging girls to go to schools.</li>
<li>Government Engineering College, Bangalore.</li>
<li>S.J. Polytechnique  Institute at Bangalore.</li>
<li>Kannada Library Acadamy.</li>
</ol>
<p>and still so many&#8230;..</p>
<h3>Honours for Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya:</h3>
<p>Being such a huge personality, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was honoured by many foundations and Institutes. Some of his honours are mentioned below.</p>
<ul>
<li>1904: Honorary Membership of Institute of Civil Engineers, London, for unbrakable period of 50 years.</li>
<li>1915: Knight commander of Order of The India Empire.</li>
<li>1921: D.Sc. by Culcutta University. (Formerly known as Kolkata).</li>
<li>1937: D.Lit. Banaras Hindu Univerjsity.</li>
<li>1954: Honorary Life Member of Institution of Engineers.</li>
<li>1958: Durga Prasad Khaitan Memorial Gold Medal by Royal Asiatic Society of Bengal.</li>
<li>1959: Fellowship of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Achievements of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya:</h2>
<ol>
<li>Implemented Intrigated System of Irrigation in Deccan Area.</li>
<li>Pentanted System of Automatic Wear Flood Gate.</li>
<li>These gates also installed on reservoir at Khadakvasla, Pune.</li>
<li>Flood Protection system for Hyderabad for protecting from floods.</li>
<li>Protection agaist Sea Erosion of City, Vizag.</li>
</ol>
<p>So this was the brief on Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. No doubt, we can not explain him in so less words. But, we should memorize him today and take encouragement from his works which he did in last century, in such hard times. In India, Birthday of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya is celebrated as Engineers day. Above was the Real Story behind.</p>
