C. Most popular programming language. Everyone who knows programming, definitely, will be agree with the fact that first language to start programming must be C. There are a lot of properties of C which trains newbie for upcoming advanced technologies. According to me, maximum people in programming field have learnt C and as there first language.

I am writing this for people new to C who are in search of some good books. Actually, there are tonnes of good books regarding C. But here I am talking about newcomer.

Recently I was learning C for C-DAC entrance exam. I have planned this article at that time only. So, when I looked around I was pretty confused to see so much books on C. Moreover, I am from Mechanical Engineering background which says that I know nothing about any book of C. Coming back to point, I talked with few of my friends, one is from Information Technology Engineering. He suggested me ANSI C written by E Balagurusamy which is published by Tata-McGraw Hill.

Leaving the story behind, I have learn C from the book. This is really a good book for C. I asked expert was good decision after-all! The book is definitely written for a person who know nothing about C. Book is given with some solved examples and many of the exercises at the end of each chapter. In short, when one studies this book thoroughly and seriously, at the end have good base of C programming. Along with book, online resource is provided for some reference.

ANSI C does not include one major part of C programming. That is Data Structures. Its not possible either to crunch it along with. So along with ANSI C, one must have a good book about Data Structures. A book written by Yashwant Kanetkar, ‘Data Structures Through C‘ can be good option for the same. It is published by BPB publications. This is core book for Data Structures. But this book is for medium to expert level programmers. Really hard for newbies. But if you have approached this book after completion of ANSI C, then its not that hard to grasp. Book provided the CD that contains codes, problems and animations which help to grasp the concepts.

So, till now we discussed 2 books on C. Now, I am going to recommend one more book, “The C Programming Language” by Dennis Ritchie and Brian Kerningham. This is 1st ever book on C written by creator of C. It is popularly known as “K & R C”.

I think this is a lot of stuff about C. These are must have books of C, obviously, according to me.

Finally, according to me, must have books for C programming are:

ANSI C by E Balagurusamy, Tata McGraw Hill.

C Programming Language By Brian Kerningham and Dennis Ritchie.

Data Structure Through C by Yashwant Kanetkar, BPB Publications.

Still, few more books you must look at are:

C: The Complete Reference, 4th Ed. by Herbert Schildt, McGraw Hill Publications.

Let Us C by Yashwant Kanetkar, BPB Publications.

Test Your C Skills by Yashwant Kanetkar, BPB Publications.

Introduction:

Viruses that attack cellular phones are no longer an exception or proof of concept. In recent months multiple variations of these viruses have reinforced their attacks, revealing an unprecedented and alarming level of exposure.

The latest generation cellular phones are no longer pure communication devices: they are intelligent multimedia centers to be used both for work and leisure, with little to differentiate them from palmtops. It seems therefore likely that the kind of security problems experienced in the PC world will likely be disturbingly similar in mobile environments.

As a result, the latest generation cellular phones have become a potentially tempting target for attack and at the same time a vehicle for malicious code. This represents a growing threat as the market increases in complexity. By observing the exponential growth of these devices registered in the past decade, we can predict that the growth in the number of smartphone users and the corresponding market around it will be much more explosive than that of PCs.

Classification: Mobile Threats:

Mobile threats can be classified in 3 main categories:

Viruses

Trojans

Worms

Symptoms or Indication of Infection:

Considering that without a safety application ,it is rather difficult to trace a virus, there are nonetheless situations that can warn the user. By and large, viruses typically cause anomalies on the phone, such as:-

An increase in communication activity

Quickly deplated battery

The receiption of unwanted massages

The deletion of icons and their modifications

Strange behaviour of mobile phones

Protective Measures to be safe from threats:

Establish clear policies for use of mobile devices.

Authenticate users and devices for data access.

Secured connections for data in transit.

Install malware protection for mobile devices.

Improve user awareness and training.

Centralize management for mobile device management and security.

Enforce active firewalls and Intrusion detection system.

Encrypt data at rest.

How does Antivirus Works?

A good anti-virus automatically analyzes all the phone’s files each time the telephone is used and – in order to prevent infections – thanks to the real time scanning function, intercepts and analyzes all the files automatically as soon as they are saved, copied, downloaded or otherwise modified, without the need for further participation on the user’s part. All viruses found are thenautomatically put in quarantine.

Future Threats:

Today, threats affect on some part of mobile phones like game, application or screensaver etc. but in future they will try to ruin the mobile phone and make it completely inoperatable.

They will affect vigourously on privacy of users, by affecting on SMS, MMS, and data theft etc.

And Many More!

The latest generation cellular phones have become a potentially tempting target for attack and at the same time a vehicle for malicious code .According to the experts , in the future we should expect a new breed of cellular device exploits. So all security software must always be kept up-to-date, so as to be able to effectively contrast attacks. It’s important to remember that old software is not designed to face new problems bearing in mind that “old” can refer to as little as a month, since anti-virus software updates are done weekly.
